YES! Day Volunteer Resources
Thank you again for volunteering for the JA NEPA YES! Day! Activity assignments and training videos were emailed to you recently. All activity videos and instructions can be found below. We have found that volunteers are much more comfortable and ready for the day after they have watched their training video. JA Staff will be available in the morning to answer training questions.
**Please contact Sue Feeney at sue.feeney@ja.org ASAP if you don’t remember which activity you have been assigned.**
NOTE: Each school sets a different start time for their YES! Day. Please check the specific time on the event webpage for the school where you are volunteering.
-------------------------------------------
You will need: Your driver’s license for check-in.
School Location: Please refer to the email sent from Sue Feeney for school address and parking instructions
Food: A light breakfast with coffee will be provided by the school. We suggest all volunteers bring a water bottle to have with you in the classroom.
Dress: Dress is business casual. If you are representing a business (ie. UPS, Starbucks) you may wear a uniform or logo shirt. Consider wearing comfortable shoes. We also recommend dressing in layers since some rooms can be warmer/cooler than others.
Photos: A JA staff member will be taking photos throughout the morning. If you are volunteering with co-workers, please let us know and we can take a picture for you. In addition, we will take a group photo of all volunteers at the end of the day when you return your activity bins.
JA understands that life happens, and unavoidable situations pop up. If you find yourself unable to fulfill your volunteer assignment, please contact Sue Feeney ASAP via email sue.feeney@ja.org. You can also call the office at 570-602-3600. We are counting on the participation of all volunteers. If a volunteer is not able to make it, JA Staff may need to rearrange volunteers to ensure that the activity will run correctly for the students.
JA and the school staff and students are excited for this day, and we hope you are as well.
Thank you again for your support of JA and for being a YES! Volunteer.
