JA Alumna Takes Pride in Seeing Her Former Students Succeed

This post was submitted <http://bit.ly/1t8rIw2> to Junior Achievement by Danielle Finn, a JA alumna and current volunteer.?I was given the opportunity to participate in the Marian L Heard Scholars Program at Northeastern when I was in high school. It was an amazing two-year program which [Danielle Finn] <https://juniorachievementusa.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/danielle-finn.jpg> focused on building our business skills, the college application process, and the JA Academy Program. I went from a very introverted teenager to voicing my opinions throughout the program and making many new friends. This program ended with a scholarship to help me further my education at Boston University <http://bit.ly/1ECNlWJ> . I was also awarded the title of JA Business Person of the Year at the annual JA Buisness Hall of Fame.?I was excited to be able to participate as a mentor at BU?s JA Academy site for my four?years at BU. After all the program had given me I was excited to be on the giving end. It?s so rewarding today to see how my former students are progressing in their college and professional lives. The pinnacle for me was watching one of my former students receive the Business Person of the Year Award at the annual Hall of Fame, just a few years after I had received it. I felt so much pride knowing I had helped her progress to this point. I will cherish my time in JA and keep all of the lessons they?ve taught me throughout my life.
